Authors in this genre find a deep satisfaction in knowing that the words they have been given are in a form that will stand the test of time. There are currently twenty-one complete copies of the Gutenberg Bible first printed in the 1450s. A testament to the value of books printed on paper, these twenty-one copies are still legible 550 years later.

Books of Faith (in all religions) are among the oldest and most valued books in existence. People have long treasured the messages of hope and help found in these books and often pass them on to family members and friends. Each testament provides another voice and another point of view to the large and ever-growing body of work that communicates essential spiritual knowledge to readers worldwide.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR AUTHORS OF FAITH:

Sizes that are easily held are preferred in most cases. 8.5.x 5.5 (the most economical), 6×9 (trade book size–a little more impressive), and some authors prefer smaller, custom sized books to fit easily in a pocket or purse (the most portable).

When designing your book for a mature audience, consider 12 point type with 15 point leading for easier reading and deeper margins for an uncluttered look.

Cite the particular version of the Bible, Koran or other religious text that you are quoting from so that your readers understand why a quote may be different from their memory of it.

Double check the phrase you are quoting to make sure it is worded exactly as you remember it.
